Paul Pogba: Manchester United midfielder slammed by Graeme Souness – ‘he thinks the game is all about him’
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has once again been criticised by Graeme Souness, the former Liverpool star.Pogba has come under fire recently given his recent poor performances, having been one of United’s best players in the period immediately following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment as caretaker manager.Pogba’s downturn in form has coincided with Manchester United’s recent struggles1

Since Solskjaer was promoted to the permanent position Pogba appears to have reverted to type, with the France World Cup winner criticised from all corners over the past couple of weeks. The criticism has been heightened amid rumours Pogba wants to leave Old Trafford for Real Madrid, after he said it would be a ‘dream’ to play for Zinedine Zidane’s side.Earlier this week it was claimed the 26-year-old has handed in a transfer request ahead of the summer window, having already agreed a contract with the Bernabeu club. And Souness, who has been one of Pogba’s most vocal critics for a long time, believes United SHOULD cash in on the midfielder if they get the chance. In his Sunday Times column, Souness writes: “If United can get back the 89.3m they paid Juventus for him this summer, I would take the money and move on.”The former Scotland midfielder adds: “He would be a dream to play against. He lets you play because he thinks the game is all about him.

“You buy a player at that price to be the difference in the big games and he hasnt been, so sell him and sign two 50m players instead.”Pogba, who was a surprise inclusion in this season’s PFA Team of the Year, has scored 13 Premier League goals this season, and also chipped in with nine assists. However, 13 of those goal actions came during the opening weeks of Solskjaer’s reign as caretaker, with Pogba only finding the back of the net twice – both of which were penalties against West Ham – since the middle of February.
