Talks had been ongoing between player and club since November and other teams from the Premier League and abroad were reportedly interested in Young.But the full-back, who turns 34 in July, has opted to extend his stay at Old Trafford and will remain there until 2020 at least.He is an integral part of United’s team on and off the pitch and is capable of playing midfield when required, having been initially bought as a winger. Young is also valued as a leader in the dressing room who underlines to his team-mates the standards expected at the club.Talking about his future in December, he said: “I feel as fit as when I was 21 years old.
