In the early hours of Monday morning, some of his properties werevandalised in Sint Truiden with messages saying f*** off Roland. In an interview with talkSPORT on Tuesday, Duchatelet said he only spent two per cent of his time on Charlton and claimed a potential takeover was being delayed due to fans’ protests. And Jordan, who owned Crystal Palace between 2000 and 2010, said Duchatelet came across as laughable in his interview. He told talkSPORT: Im a former owner and my empathy will be with an owner. One of Roland Duchatelet’s vandalised properties in Belgium3

But I just think Rolands perspective and outlook and taking this interview and presenting himself in the way that he did was laughable.I dont condone a bunch of morons going around and abusing his property. But for the love of God, some of his arguments that were being advanced about the responsibility he has and the people he put in place and the time he had for it, I dont think (Manchester City owner) Sheik Mansour is spending much time in Manchester. He just put people in place, gave them some money and let them run a football club. Rolands brought this upon himself, not abuse or physical abuse, but the contempt.Simon Jordan opens up to talkRADIO about gunpoint ordeal after being robbed of 100k watch in London3
Simon Jordan was not impressed with Roland Duchatelet’s interview
As a former owner, I feel contempt towards him because I think what he said is contemptible. I dont want to feel that about somebody whos writing cheques out.(But) he is holding the club based upon a price.”Duchatelet has been in talks with an Australian consortium regarding the sale of the club for over a year.A takeover looked set to be completed at the end of last season, however, Charlton fans are still waiting for good news. Jordan has urged prospective buyers to end Duchatelets miserable reign in SE7.Jordan added: Roland was very brave to come on the show, but hes been put in a spot because people are vandalising his property. Thats what has brought him to the fore. This consortium need to get on with buying this football club. This is about money and theyve been negotiating for a long time, either write the cheque out or dont write the cheque out.
