Southampton have confirmed Ralph Hasenhuttl is their new manager.The 51-year-old has replaced Mark Hughes, whose last game in charge was the 2-2 draw with Manchester United.Southampton say Hasenhuttl has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal with the club and will take over on 6 December.In addition, the Premier League club say he will be supported by existing First Team Assistant Coach Kelvin Davis, Head of Goalkeeping Dave Watson and Head of Sports Science Alek Gross.Most recently, he led RB Leipzig to the Europa League quarter-finals, having finished runners-up in the Bundesliga in his first season in charge.1

Hasenhuttl was most recently in charge of RB Leipzig in Germany and now will try and keep Southampton in the Premier League

In our discussions, he very quickly aligned himself with the values and the vision of the club.Southampton Football Clubs past success was built on a clear identity. The foundation of this identity was a focus on developing players, whether from within our academy or after joining from other clubs. Ralphs ability to teach the game and to develop talent is evident in his past and is a centrepiece of why he is the perfect choice to be the new Saints manager. Speaking about his team’s style of play in May,Hasenhuttl said: I think no matter where I’ve worked, the stadiums have always been full as a result of how we played.“Its successful, attractive and represents a particular way of life, and that’s down to our philosophy.
